Common questions
Booking, Timing and Response Times
How do I book?
Call (02) 9054 3079 or send the online form and we'll ring you back. Tell us what's wrong and we'll book you in for a time that suits.
How soon can you fit me in?
Often same or next day for standard bookings, faster again if it's urgent. We'll always give you an honest timeframe rather than a guess.
What happens after I call?
A real person answers, not a call centre, and asks what's going on. We book a time, send a licensed electrician, and you get a written price before any work starts.
Do you work weekends?
Standard bookings run business hours through the week. Genuine electrical emergencies get a response any time, weekends included.
Common questions
Pricing and Quotes
How do quotes work?
We come out, take a look, and hand you a written quote before anything starts. That figure covers labour, materials and testing, agreed with you before we pick up a tool.
Is the quote really free?
Yes. On-site quotes don't cost you anything, and there's no call-out fee for quoting. You only pay once you've said yes to the price in front of you.
What does '$50 off your first service' cover?
First time booking us? Take $50 off your first service, whatever the job is. It comes straight off the invoice once the work's done, no fine print attached.
How do I pay?
You pay once the job's finished and signed off, against the price we agreed before starting. No surprises on the invoice, ever.
Common questions
Local to Brookvale
How local are you, really?
We're on the tools around Brookvale and the wider Northern Beaches most weeks, not flying in from across Sydney. Ask anyone who has booked us during Sea Eagles season, when Brookvale Oval traffic turns the surrounding streets into a car park and we still turn up when we said we would.
What suburbs do you service?
Brookvale is home turf, and we cover the neighbouring suburbs just as often. That includes Dee Why, Curl Curl, Beacon Hill, Allambie Heights, Cromer and Collaroy.
Do you work on heritage or strata properties?
Plenty of it. Post-war fibro cottages sit beside 1960s-1980s brick unit blocks here, and a good share of our work is strata. We don't see heritage listings on this stretch, but shared switchboards and meter rooms in older blocks need careful sign-off with the body corporate.
Can you handle new builds and renovations here?
Yes, and we see plenty of both. The old industrial precinct keeps getting rezoned into apartments, and warehouse conversions often need a full rewire to meet current standards alongside new-build fit-outs.
Common questions
Licensing and Safety
What is a safety switch (RCD) and do I need one?
A safety switch (RCD) cuts the power in a fraction of a second if it senses a fault, before it can hurt anyone. Plenty of Brookvale's mid-century homes and older walk-up flats still don't have one on every circuit, so we check this on every visit.
What brands do you install?
We fit Clipsal and Hager switchgear as standard, plus SAL and Beacon Lighting for fixtures. Premium gear only, never bargain-bin imports.
What is AS/NZS 3000?
It's the Australian wiring rules standard, and every job we do has to meet it. Think safety switches on every circuit, correct cable sizing, and proper earthing, all tested before we sign off.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. NSW Electrical Contractor Licence #452529C, and we're Master Electricians Australia members. We're fully insured too, so you're covered from the first minute we're on site.
